James Smith

Director, Marketing and Communications - PCL Constructors Inc.

With two decades of experience as a journalist and communications strategist, James has worked to define and protect PCL’s reputation since 2011. Based in Edmonton, he is responsible for the Industrial division’s marketing strategy, public relations, internal communications, design and editorial focus. A member of the PCL MarComm steering committee, he works with teams based in Canada and the United States to ensure ongoing strategic planning.

James holds a dual degree in English Literature and Political Science from the University of Alberta (2003) and a post-graduate degree in Journalism from the University of King’s College in Nova Scotia (2006). During his time on the east coast, he worked for the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre (2005) as it hosted Exercise Indigo Sword—a month-long corps-level training exercise focused on enhancing NATO’s response readiness. He worked subsequently as senior online editor of the Edmonton Sun (2005-2006) and manager of corporate communications with EPCOR Utilities (2006-2011) before joining PCL. He has served on the boards of The Canadian Liver Foundation (Alberta), IABC (Edmonton), and Latitude 53 Contemporary Visual Culture. In his spare time he enjoys reading, writing, watching English football and exploring with his dogs.


 

Mike Bray

District Human Resources & Professional Development Manager - PCL Industrial Management Inc.

Mike has been working in Human Resources since 2005 and has been with PCL since 2007, starting as a Human Resources Coordinator before transferring to Finance in 2010. He returned to the world of Human Resources in 2012 and in 2015 transferred to Houston as the district HRPD Manager. Mike came back to Edmonton in 2021 to work as the District Human Resources & Professional Development Manager for the Canadian Industrial group.

While working with PCL, Mike has contributed to a variety of initiatives including chairing district DE&I committees, social committees, United Way Campaigns in Houston, and Bust a Move in Edmonton. He has also been deeply involved in his communities, serving as vice president for the board of directors of Houston Habitat for Humanity, working with Junior Achievement, and becoming a foster parent. In his spare time, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, camping, dirt biking, snowboarding, and playing hockey.


 

Daniella Mijailovic-Feraco

MBA, CPA, CMA - Manager, Finance & Commercial Risk - PCL Construction

Daniella Mijailovic-Feraco is Manager, Finance and Commercial Risk at Edmonton-based PCL Construction, Canada’s largest construction company with a reputation as a leader in the industry and builder of many iconic projects, ranging from sports arenas to water treatment plants and petrochemical facilities. As a senior finance manager with a career that has spanned over 20 years in the construction industry, Daniella has been involved in many exciting ventures which has included being part of a team that completed an initial public offering (IPO) in record time for its size.  Daniella has been instrumental in the implementation of multiple mergers and acquisitions — seeing them through to successful completion.

Daniella is also a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion on the job, and she is involved in a number of initiatives both at PCL and within the industry that focus on elevating women in the workplace — a particularly important goal in what has been a traditionally male-dominated industry.

Daniella has an MBA from the University of Alberta with a specialization in International Business and is a designated accountant holding a CPA, CMA accounting designation.


 

Chris Pullen

Vice President & General Manager - PCL Constructors Inc.

Chris Pullen is the vice president and general manager for PCL Industrial Management located in Edmonton, Alberta. He is responsible for the company’s strategic direction, safety, quality, and business growth. Chris started his career in the field as a red seal certified journeyman electrician and earned increasingly senior positions, where he led various teams in the refining, extraction, petrochemical maintenance, and construction fields. He has 35 years of heavy industrial construction experience, including managing multi-disciplined projects with labor numbers in excess of 1,000 tradespeople.

Chris’ responsibilities have included managing district operations, developing and implementing project HSE and quality plans, project performance, scheduling, and subcontractor activities. Chris works closely with owner and engineering partners on constructability reviews and integrating commissioning and start-up considerations into the construction plan. He has been successful in developing positive working relationships with owners and their engineering and operations teams in order to meet the projects’ goals related to safety, budget, schedule, quality, and start-up.

Chris has been a chair of PCL’s United Way Campaign, as well as serving on the United Way Capital Region Board, and enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 daughters, hunting, and fishing.


 

Nikki Ledesma

District Human Resources & Professional Development Coordinator - PCL Industrial Management Inc.

Nikki has been with PCL Industrial Management Inc. since 2022. Nikki started her career as a District Human Resources and Professional Development Student. She completed all of her co-op terms at PCL and continued working part-time while finishing her studies. In April 2024, after earning her Bachelor of Commerce degree from MacEwan University, she transitioned into a salaried role as a District Human Resources and Professional Development Coordinator.

Nikki enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants, reading, and travelling.


 

Blake Caron

Project Accountant - PCL Industrial Management Inc.

Blake joined PCL as a Project Accountant in September 2024. He went to MacEwan University from 2019-2021 & the University of Alberta from 2022-2024, where he graduated with his Bachelor of Commerce Degree, Majoring in Accounting. 

Since joining PCL, Blake has taken over 3 of the Consumer’s Co-operative Refineries Limited (CO-OP) projects based out of Regina, Saskatchewan, and has been managing these projects all based out of PCL’s Home Office in Edmonton, Alberta. 

In his spare time, Blake enjoys golf, hockey, racket sports, boating, and spending time with family & friends. 


Grant Mombourquette

District Manager - PCL Industrial Management Inc.

Recently named district manager for PCL's heavy industrial construction operations in Canada, Grant is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the district. An operations manager since  2020, he has spent almost two decades with PCL, beginning his career in 2006 as a project coordinator at PCL's pipe fabrication and module construction facilities in Nisku, Alberta.

 Grant has also spent extensive time working on large projects across the country, including Shell's RHC project, before taking on a leadership position on Imperial Oil's Kearl Initial Development project. He was named deputy site manager for the ensuing Kearl Expansion project and later construction manager on the North West Redwater Refinery projects.

Grant holds a degree in information systems technology from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.

In his spare time, Grant enjoys hunting, fishing, coaching, and spending time with his family.
