Canadian Western Bank

Nick is currently the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Canadian Western Bank. He says one of the cool things he is working on right now is defining the elements of CWB’s client experience “secret sauce” and building a plan to put that at the heart of the company’s national growth strategy.

Nick has previously held senior leadership and executive roles in marketing, strategy, communications, and corporate affairs at some of Canada’s largest and highest profile corporate brands. This includes Canadian Tire and TELUS, where he started as a junior temporary employee and became a VP seven years later.

Nick calls his 14 years with TELUS the “wild ride of my career” as he helped transform the company from a regional telco into one of Canada’s most recognized national brands and a top performing telecom in the world.

Nick has two great children, Cassia and Matthew. All three share a passion for soccer, and both Cassia and Matthew are avid players. His Saturday morning ritual consists of too many cups of coffee and watching European soccer games. While attending the University of Alberta, Nick was team captain and an All-Canadian member of the Golden Bears soccer program.

When he’s not working or coaching his kids, Nick loves to travel. Croatia and the Bahamas are two of his favourite “good for the soul” places.

Nick has been called intensely passionate and someone who wears his heart on his sleeve. During Nick’s keynote, you can expect a very transparent, personal take on “resilience” through the lens of his career, mistakes he made and life lessons learned.
