Share a story of a time a challenge helped you build resilience.
After my second year, I set myself one goal, to become fluent in German. That decision led me to live abroad in Berlin. While the move was exciting, it was far from easy. Living alone in a country with a different language was a huge challenge. Between navigating daily tasks like grocery shopping and adjusting to a completely new environment, I had to stay focused on my main objective. I committed to speaking German every day, attending classes in German, and fully immersing myself in the culture. The progress was gradual, but eventually, the language started to feel natural, like a part of me. Looking back, I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything in the world.

Passionate.
Hi everyone! My name is Juan Solarte-Ortiz, and I’m excited to be serving as the VP of Public Relations for RMBS this year! In my role, I focus on building and maintaining strong relationships between the club and external institutions, while also supporting all of our delegates. This is my second year with RMBS, after first joining as a delegate, and I can confidently say that the experience completely changed my outlook on university. It gave me the confidence, resources, and friendships that have made my undergrad experience truly unforgettable. I hope RMBS brings you just as much value this year. To all our delegates, I’m here for you. I'm excited to see what this year holds for all of us!
What is your favourite aspect of RMBS?
My favorite part of RMBS was connecting with people from all across the country. Throughout the week it was easy to meet someone new, whether at a networking event or during a breakout session. I had the opportunity to build meaningful connections and even made some great friends over the course of the seminar.
