Damon English
Hey everyone! I'm Damon English. I'm a fourth-year student majoring in Finance at the University of Alberta. I was lucky enough to get the privledge of landing the role of Associate Marketing and becoming part of one of the most determined clubs at the UofA. When I got the chance to attend as a delegate last year, I instantly knew I wanted to be an executive for the following conference. Everybody there was full of motivation, ambition and passion. It seemed like everyone had a great experience and I really wanted to be a part of bringing that experience back to people. After getting selected for my role I've been working during the summer designing logos, creating information packages, tweaking the website and more. Outside of RMBS this summer I've enjoyed playing on a few recreational hockey teams with a few of my friends and enjoy hiking in the rockies while on road trips.
What is your favourite aspect of RMBS?
When I was first told about RMBS I was sold on so many amazing aspects about the conference such as the mountains, the activities, the pitch contest, the journey there, and all these things that all ended up being even better than expected. But the thing that not many people emphasized while explaining it to me was the significance of the people you meet. In this conference, there are so many people from different schools all over the country who have the same goals as you and the same aspirations to succeed in the world of business. I found that last year, although our time was limited to only a week, there were connections and memories that I made at the conference that will last a lifetime.
What are you grateful for?
I am grateful for many things in my life. To start I am very grateful to be a part of this team. Being able to take part in creating something that people enjoy will always be rewarding to me. I am grateful for my family and friends who care about me and are supportive of me no matter what I do. I am grateful for my health and being able to do whatever I desire physically in my daily life. I am lastly also fairly grateful for myself and the person I have became from a result of the people and challenges around me.
