Angelo Malenica
Hey everyone! I'm Angelo Malenica. I'm a fourth-year student majoring in Finance at the University of Alberta, and this year I have the privilege of serving as Vice President of Public Relations for RMBS. Last year I had the privilege of going to RMBS as a delegate and I immediately loved the culture around the conference and especially the team running the conference and how much passion and drive they showed for the conference. Since taking on the role I've been building relationships with the schools who will be attending the conference. Outside of RMBS this summer I worked as an analyst at a private capital markets firm here in Edmonton, and in my free time I enjoy skiing and pickle ball. Can't wait to meet everyone at RMBS this year!
What is your favourite aspect of RMBS?
For me my favourite part of RMBS was the friendships, the friendships you come with and the ones you make. It was a truly great experience getting to meet so many like-minded and driven people. It's hard to describe until you experience it, but spending a few days in the mountains with people who share the same drive and ambition creates friendships that stick. I still talk to people I met at RMBS regularly, and those connections are a huge part of why I wanted to return in an executive role and help create that same experience for new delegates.
What are you grateful for?
I'm most grateful for the opportunities I've had, both big and small. Every experience I've gained, from working in finance to serving on the RMBS executive team, started with an opportunity that someone gave me. Some of them I worked hard to earn, and others came when I least expected them, but all of them shaped who I am today. What makes me even more grateful is knowing that not everyone gets the same chances, which motivates me to make the most of every single one. It's also why giving back matters so much to me. Whether it's helping new delegates have an amazing experience at RMBS or supporting the people around me, I want to help create opportunities for others the same way people have done for me.
Describe yourself in one word.
