Share a story of a time a challenge helped you build resilience.

Two of the biggest challenges I’ve faced in my undergrad were adjusting to my first month of university, starting my first internship, and stepping into leadership roles with the BTM Club and RMBS. Each came with uncertainty, new environments, steep learning curves, and the pressure of responsibility. What got me through was building resilience: learning to adapt quickly, leaning on others for support, and staying confident even when things felt overwhelming. Those experiences taught me that growth comes from discomfort, and resilience means facing challenges head-on and coming out stronger.

Hi everyone, my name is Amir, and I’m in my final year of a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Business Technology Management. Last year, I had the privilege of serving as VP Events for the conference, and this year I’m honored to help carry forward the legacy of RMBS as we celebrate our 61st year. I’m especially excited for RMBS 61 as it marks the start of a new decade for the conference, hosted for the first time at the Fairmont Château Lake Louise. It’s going to be an incredible week bringing together some of the best business students from across Canada to network, learn, and build lasting relationships and memories.

What is your favourite aspect of RMBS?

One of my favorite things about RMBS is the relationships you get to build over the week. What makes RMBS unique compared to a typical networking night is the time, instead of just a couple of hours, you have a full week to connect. That extra time creates space for real conversations, stronger bonds, and lasting memories with some of the top companies in Canada. On a personal note, some of my closest friendships from my undergrad journey actually started at RMBS, which is something I’ll always value.
