Alivia Pandarinath
Hi everyone!
My name is Alivia Pandarinath, and I’m a fourth-year Accounting student at the University of Alberta. I first attended RMBS as a delegate in 2024, returned in 2025, and after two incredible experiences, I knew I wanted to be part of the team behind it. I’m so excited and honoured to be serving as your VP Events this year!
RMBS has become one of the most meaningful parts of my university experience. It’s where I’ve met some of my closest friends, made unforgettable memories, and connected with students from across the country. I’m so excited to help create that same experience for all of you and spend an incredible week together at the beautiful Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge!
This past summer, I studied abroad in Italy, where I explored Europe and embraced a completely different pace of life. When I’m not planning all things Events for RMBS, you’ll probably find me at a concert, trying a new restaurant in Edmonton, boxing, or hanging out with my Labradoodle, Brody, in the River Valley.
I can’t wait to get to know you all and make RMBS 2027 one for the books. See you in the mountains!
What is your favourite aspect of RMBS?
What makes RMBS so special to me is everything that happens beyond the conference itself. It’s the people you meet, the conversations you have, and the little moments that become the memories you remember most. There is something so meaningful about spending a week surrounded by incredible people from across the country and watching strangers become a community.
I love the energy and sense of connection that comes with RMBS. From early-morning breakfasts and conversations between breakout sessions to the hospitality suites and spontaneous hot tub hangs. Some of my favourite memories have come from moments I never could have planned: laughing with someone I had just met, tackling my first case competition, or making a connection that continued long after the week was over.
For me, RMBS is so much more than a conference. It’s the friendships, traditions, and memories that have made my university experience so special. Those are the things that keep bringing me back.
What are you grateful for?
When I think about what I’m grateful for, I think about how much of my life has been shaped by the people around me. My parents have given me the freedom and support to try things, take risks, and figure out what I want for myself. Watching how hard they work and the way they have supported me has shaped the way I approach my own goals more than they probably realize.
The same goes for my friends. Some have been part of my life for years, while others started as people I happened to meet along the way. I’ve learned that the people you surround yourself with can completely change your experience of life. The best people challenge you, celebrate your wins, keep you grounded, and make even the stressful moments more fun.
I think that’s what I value most: having people who make me excited about both where I am and where I’m going.
