Chief Financial Officer, Seven Generations Energy


Chris joined Seven Generations in October 2008 and previously served as Vice President, Corporate Planning. Chris has had diverse industry roles in corporate finance, treasury, strategic planning and business development with Seven Generations and previously with Western Oil Sands and Marathon Oil Corporation, as well as providing consulting services to Cambridge Energy Research Associates (IHS CERA). Chris earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (with distinction) from the University of Victoria in 2002 and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Corporate Strategy from the University of Calgary in 2008. A devoted family man, Chris is married with three young children. Passionate for many sports and music, Chris can often be found with his family exploring the Rocky Mountains near Calgary. He also serves as a director and treasurer on the board of his children’s school.


Chris has significant experience in accessing financial markets, with more than $5 billion of successful deals under his leadership. Through numerous transactions, Chris has led the raising of US$1.6 billion in fixed income debt, more than $500 million in private equity, approximately $1 billion in public equity, and has arranged more than $1 billion in bank lending. Chris quarterbacked 7G’s $930 million initial public offering in 2014, and led the negotiations and structuring of 7G’s recent major acquisition valued at $1.9 billion at the time of announcement in mid-2016. Promoted to CFO in April of 2015, he leads accounting, finance, investor relations, corporate planning and information technology.
